When Disaster strikes, how will SLV communicate? The San Lorenzo Valley Emergency Network (SLVEN) is hosting a free public meeting on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, 7 to 9 PM. 

Hybrid meeting: on ZOOM call (INFORMATION BELOW) , and in person in Felton at Mountain Community Resources (ADDRESS BELOW).

Effective communications before and during disasters is crucial to us in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This meeting will highlight several items:

• County alerts and notifications through: Cruzaware, S.A.F.E.R. website, NOAA Weather Radio Alerts
• What is the emergency communication systems flow in SLV?
• Who is using MURS radio - Firewise, CERT, and neighborhoods.
• How HAM radio operators are our emergency communications link to County OR3
